Anonymous: is it hard to get hired at Disneyland? and do you not know what job you'll get? like is it pretty general?
I had to apply a few times before I finally got an interview, but I know a lot of people that got hired the first time they applied! When you apply for a job you pick a general job [attractions, food cart, stores, etc.] Then when you get hired and complete your orientations [Traditions/Welcome To…] you find out where exactly you’ll be working. If you’re going to apply for a job, make sure it is something that you are really wanting to do. When you apply your application is active for 6 months and you cannot apply for another job until that application becomes inactive. Hope that helps! :]

theonlyerikever: I just got hired too! I'm on main street!!
TOO COOL! I met a few people who are going to work on Main Street during my Traditions class. Even a CANDY MAKER! <3 I was listening to my Disney mixed CDs and watching Disney movies all week… and I’m currently watching Tangled. :P
SO! I’m pretty much a legit CM now. No big deal. I start training on Saturday and I’m going to be working … [- drum roll -] AUTOPIA! <3 White girl in shorts and a short-sleeved shirt all summer… yaaaay. :P I’m kinda still in shock over the whole thing. My uncle [& fellow cast member] is taking me to buy my work shoes tomorrow. I’ve already used my CM id to get into the parking structure, into DCA, and to get a discount on a lanyard for Boyfriend. [it’s Star Wars, and Disney, and AWESOME!] <3
I feel like I can’t really enjoy this as much as I would because of drama at home, but still really happy about this whole thing. I can’t wait to go out into the park and create happiness for all of our guests! :D
When I go to the D.R., the press in Santo Domingo always asks, “¿Qué te consideras, dominicana o americana?” (What do you consider yourself, Dominican or American?) I don’t understand it, and it’s the same people asking the same question. So I say, time and time again, “Yo soy una mujer negra.” (“I am a black woman.”) [They go,] “Oh, no, tú eres trigueñita.” (“Oh no, you are ‘dark skinned’”) I’m like, “No! Let’s get it straight, yo soy una mujer negra.” (“I am a black woman.”)
